Thanks to the Australian Government Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources, AusCycling received funding via the Building Better Regions Fund to deliver a series of mountain biking workshops in regional Australia.


The focus of this free workshops is to educate a variety of stakeholders on the activity of mountain biking, recent developments in the industry and industry best practice, and how mountain biking can benefit and enable regions and communities.

PROGRAM

SATURDAY - DOUG WALTERS PAVILION & DUNGOG COMMON

7am - 9am: Active Session: Mountain Bike Ride at the Dungog Mountain Bike Park - Dungog Common. All welcome

9am - 10am: Coffee and Introductions

10am to 1pm: Theory Session: Sustainable Trails: How to design them, build them and maintain them. Track Teams, Club Members, Volunteers, Trail Builders.

1pm to 2pm: Lunch

2pm to 4pm: Practical Session. Trail Repairs and Maintenance based on the theory session. Track Teams, Club Members, Volunteers, Trail Builders.

4pm to 6pm: Drinks and Social Networking at the Tinshed Brewery. All welcome

SUNDAY - DOUG WALTERS PAVILION & DUNGOG COMMON

8:30am - 10:30am: Theory Session: What impact is mountain biking having on communities? How can it be sustainable? What is the future? Council, Crown Lands, Government Agencies, Mountain Bike Club Committee, Local Businesses.

10:30am - 11am: Morning Tea

11am - 1pm: Theory Session: Who are the Stakeholders and What do they do? Council, Crown Lands, Mountain Bike Club Committee, Tourism Office.

1pm to 2pm: Lunch and Networking

2pm - 4pm: Practical Session at the Dungog Common. Trail Planning for the future. Track Teams, Club Members, Volunteers, Trail Builders.
