Description:

The Knob Loop is a challenging 50km scenic ride through the Chichester State Forrest and surrounding countryside.  It involves 900m of climbing.

Starting from Dungog the ride goes up Main Creek into the forest, passes The Knob viewing area, and returns to Dungog through Bandon Grove and Bendolba.

To start, ride north down Dowling Street, across the Railway line and the Coorei Bridge and continue north along Stroud road.

  1. Turn left onto Monkerai Road.

  2. Turn left onto Main Creek Road.

  3. Bear left onto Skimmings Gap road.

  4. Continue left on Skimmings Gap Road to The Knob

  5. Take the side road to view The Knob lookout then return on the same road. Either return the way you came or continue north west on Skimmings Gap Road.

  6. Turn left at Wangat Road, heading south toward Bandon Grove

  7. Enter Chichester Dam Road and proceed south to Dungog.
