Description:

A fairly challenging 44km out and back from Dungog to the Telegherry River for a swim in the pristine Tawny Frog Mouth Swimming Hole.

  1. To start ride North down Dowling Street, across the railway line:

  2. After crossing the Coorei Bridge, which crosses the Williams River, continue on Stroud Hill Road until Main Creek road.

  3. Turn left on to Monkerai Road

  4. Turn slight left on to Main Creek Road

  5. Continue to Main Creek Road until you reach signage for Carrawiry Forest Escape (Cabbage Tree Road) where you take the right side of the fork, being towards Carrawiry.

  6. Ride to the top of the hill, which is called the four way and continue on straight ahead over the top (don’t turn left or right), and ride or walk downhill about 1500m to the river. Swimming hole is on the right hand side once you cross the remnants of the old bridge.

  7. Return the same way.
